Jamestown College

School Description

Provided by Jamestown College

We are a community dedicated to the development of wholeness in our students through adherence to a curriculum of academic excellence which balances the ideals of the liberal arts tradition and sound professional preparation, within a Christian atmosphere of self-discipline, responsibility, and concern for continuing growth of the individual.

Established in 1883, Jamestown College is a private, liberal arts four-year college which grants Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, and Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees. Jamestown College offers more than 40 areas of study.

Some areas of academic interest at Jamestown College include business and information technology; teacher education and physical education; pre-med, nursing, health professions and sciences; pre-law, communication, criminal justice, psychology and humanities/social sciences; fine arts, music and languages.

Jamestown College is more than a place for higher learning. It is also where you will meet the friends you'll treasure for the rest of your life. It is a place where the professors will challenge you to think for yourself and learn to look at situations in a whole new light. It is a place you will begin to find success.

We have over 40 areas of academic and pre-professional studies. Double major options are available to combine areas of interest and with the assistance of an adviser, an individually designed major can be approved for students with varied interests.

Some have called Jamestown College the "Ivy League of the Region," not only because of the stunning beauty of the campus, but also because Jamestown College offers many of the advantages of a large university (quality and variety of programs and courses) in a small college setting.
