Alaska Pacific University is an intentionally small, private, independent university devoted to innovative teaching and learning, where students receive personal attention in small classes and acquire leadership capabilities, moral character, and self-direction through active learning.
Alaska Pacific offers a distinctive form of study, one that extends respect, freedom and responsibility to students. Our premise is that today's students need and deserve an active education to prepare them for a dynamic and rapidly changing world. A modern university, therefore, should teach students to think for themselves, to set their own goals and accomplish them, and to work creatively and effectively with others.
APU offers majors and degrees that emphasize personal growth through student-centered, experiential education using Alaska as a laboratory for learning.
Student Activities at Alaska Pacific University provides many opportunities for active learning students. From leadership retreats to attending a showing of the newest released movie in the Student Center, we give students the chance to learn outside of the classroom in entertaining and exciting ways
